Eye Examination

Regular eye examinations are essential to maintain eye health and ensure the early detection of potential issues. In Turkey, thanks to modern technologies and expert physicians, we perform eye exams in a highly results-oriented and safe manner.
Stages of Eye Examination
History and Complaints: Initially, the patient's general health and any eye-related complaints are evaluated.
•    Your general health history
•    Current eye problems
•    Family history of eye diseases
Visual Acuity Test: This test measures your ability to see at various distances. It is conducted using the standard Snellen chart.
•    Distance vision test
•    Near vision test
Intraocular Pressure Measurement (Tonometry): A tonometer is used to measure the intraocular pressure. This procedure is crucial for early diagnosis of diseases such as glaucoma.
•    Air puff tonometry
•    Goldmann applanation tonometry
Slit Lamp Biomicroscopy: This examination thoroughly evaluates the surface and inner structure of the eye using a special microscope.
•    Cornea and lens examination
•    Retina and optic nerve evaluation
Refractive Error Testing: Refractive tests detect conditions like myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. Autorefractometers are commonly used.
•    Autorefraction
•    Manual refraction test
Eye Movement and Coordination Test: In this phase, the muscles and movements of the eyes are assessed. You will be asked to look in various directions.
•    Muscle function test
•    Binocular vision assessment
Dilated Eye Exam: Special drops are used to widen your pupils. This allows a detailed examination of the retina and optic nerve.
•    Extended retina examination
•    Macula and optic disc evaluation
